UrbanPy is an open-source project to automate data extraction, measurement, and visualization of urban accessibility metrics. It has a set of analytical functions that automates some of the common tasks in a GIS workflow such as obtaining geographic limits (See Fig 1), downloading population density data, locating points of interest (PoIs), and even calculating travel times.

This library was developed in a partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank, the Universidad del Pacífico, and the Economic Development Management of the Municipality of Lima using open data.
